Media Design University of Applied Sciences - The institution
The MD.H Mediadesign University of Applied Sciences (UAS) is one of the leading universities for media and design in Germany. It trains tomorrow's offspring in all relevant media areas. Students benefit from the special proximity of the MD.H to the media market.
The MD.H maintains close relationships with businesses within the media landscape and it is a member of the German Association of Private Universities [Verband der Privaten Hochschulen (VPH)]. More than 40 leading private German universities join forces in the German Association of Private Universities.
The MD.H is one of the largest private providers of courses and training in the field of new media, games, fashion, media and communication management and IT. Our company sees itself as a driving force. When developing the courses, we always take into account the current and future demand situation on the job market. All existing courses are also continuously adapted to new requirements.
The Mediadesign Hochschule für Medien und Informatik GmbH is the organising institution of the MD.H. The MD.H has three campuses: Berlin, Munich and Düsseldorf, with headquarters in Berlin. Prof. Christian Malterer is the rector of the Media Design University of Applied Sciences.
The subsidiary Mediadesign Akademie für Aus- und Weiterbildung GmbH is the organising institution of the Private Mediadesign Fachoberschule für Gestaltung (Media Design Training School) founded in 2014.
State-recognized and accredited
Since April 1, 2004, the private MD.H has been recognized by the state in accordance with Section 123 (1) of the Berlin Higher Education Act in conjunction with Section 70 (1) of the Framework Act of Higher Education and since May 10, 2010 it has also been institutionally accredited by the Science Council. The re-accreditation by the Science Council took place on October 22, 2018.
In order to enable the international comparability of the degrees, the MD.H courses are regularly re-accredited by the Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (ZEvA) [Zentrale Evaluations- und Akkreditierungsagentur (ZEvA)]. . All MD.H courses are successfully accredited.
